Stop the Brislington Greenway site plan

Sign our petition for the council to find a more appropriate location

We are concerned to see an application by Bristol City Council for a temporary meanwhile site of up to 30 pitches for vehicle dwellers along part of the old Brislington railway line behind the Lodekka pub.

Cllr Andrew Varney said, “This application is part of a new policy to relocate vehicles dwellers from the roadside, where there is a lack of basic facilities, which poses a risk to public health. While we support the principle of properly managed sites for people in need, we don’t believe the Brislington Greenway is the right location.

Cllr Jos Clark added, “Local residents have endured years of unauthorised encampments on this site with associated anti-social behaviour. Although this new facility would be ‘managed’, we are unsure how effective that would be.“

If you would like the council to withdraw their application, please sign our petition below.

We oppose using part of the old Brislington railway line as a temporary meanwhile site, and call on Bristol City Council to withdraw their application and find a more appropriate location.
