Hillfields is a 2 member ward in Bristol East Parliamentary Constituency. The last election in Hillfields was in May 2016 where the candidates were Roland Harmer and Andrew Morgan.
The Liberal Democrats received 5.42% of the vote and we want to increase this in the next election. The next election will be in May 2021.
News broke this morning that the Council owned housing company Goram Homes has plans to develop the two Grade II listed bonded warehouses on Spike Island into a new 200 home development. Details are currently scarce barring the fact that it will be a ‘mix’ of affordable and market value apartments developed as part of the ‘Western Harbour Regeneration Area’.
200 new apartments coming, but can the local infrastructure support it?
As part of the Scrap The Mayor campaign, Liberal Democrat members have selected medical science and pharmaceutical consultant Dr. Caroline Gooch to be their candidate for Bristol Mayor.
Caroline trained as a research scientist and now works as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry and has worked in medical affairs, medical information, and medicines access. She is passionate about ethical business practices, working in partnership with the NHS to achieve access to medicines for patients, and about having full, open and frank conversations with doctors about medicines.
Local champion for 12 years –addressing all constituents’ casework, supporting local groups, campaigning on my special interests: balanced sustainable communities, trees, waste/recycling, gardens, better places (ex-architect!), local decision-making, traffic moderation, parks+schools, local networks, youth services, loneliness, controlling pesticides and much more - and improving most.
