Clifton development

Following the shock expressed by residents during and after the public consultation on September 5th , THAT Group’s first ideas for redeveloping 2/16 CLIFTON DOWN ROAD (Old WHSmiths) have been shelved. A second consultation will take place from 5:00 - 7:30pm on 31st October at Clifton Library, Princess Victoria Street, Bristol BS8 4BX   .

We urge Bristol City Council to work with residents and developers to urgently secure a proposal which reflects and enhances the unique local environment

THAT Group now proposes a development which features a mixed-use commercial development of less square footage than previously, to include a range of retail units on the lower floor levels, with office space above and top floor restaurant space.

We the undersigned object to the current inappropriate proposals for the development of 2-16 Clifton Down Rd.  We call upon Bristol City Council to work with residents and developers to agree a set of proposals that reflect and enhance the local, unique environment.  This derelict site has been an eyesore for too long.  Residents demand urgent action.
